MAYURITES PROMOTE ROAD SAFETY THROUGH STREET PLAY
The government plays a crucial role in ensuring road safety and the well-being of its citizens. It formulates traffic rules, installs necessary devices, and makes appropriate arrangements to facilitate the smooth flow of traffic. However, the tireless efforts of the traffic police, who work relentlessly in extreme weather conditions such as scorching heat, heavy rains, and cold winters, can be in vain when citizens choose to ignore and violate these rules and safety measures. This negligence often leads to devastating accidents, causing loss of life, injuries, and extensive damage to property.
Recognizing the gravity of this issue, students from Mayura School took a proactive step and organized street plays on road safety and traffic rules at prominent locations such as Panchwati Circle, Bhagat Singh Park, Albert Hall, Statue Circle, Amar Jawan Jyoti, SMS Stadium - Cricket Stadium, Indoor Hall, 'Yaadgar,' and the Transport Department office. The purpose was to raise awareness and educate people about these vital issues. The street plays, titled "Nukkad Natak," were skillfully directed by Mrs. Archana Shukla, Head of the Hindi Department, and Smt. Smita Giri, who is in charge of Cultural Programs and the English Department.
The performances by the talented students - Kavya Khandelwal, Vedika Sharma, Jainandini Bhatia, Charvi Agarwal, Kanishka Agarwal, Simran Ajwani, Tanishka Godhwani, Lakshya Agarwal, Atulit Gupta, Nofil Syyed, Dhananjay Sharma, Vinayak Bhatia, Lakshay Parakh, Vanshika Sharma, Anamaya Sharma, Faiza Ahmed, and Chitransh Raj Bhardwaj - received immense appreciation from the audience at all the locations.
